Itinerary

Tour 1 DayBucharest - Azuga - Sinaia - Bucharest

We will start our trip in the morning. We will reach Azuga in the afternoon. There we will be introduced into the story of wine tourism. It began to develop with the Halewood Wine Cellars, the Rhein-Azuga Cellars, where you can discover the art of producing sparkling wine according to the traditional method used in the Champagne region. The Rhein cellars in Azuga were opened in 1892. They were recognized, between the two world wars, as the “Royal Court Supplier”. At present, Rhein Azuga Cellars are the oldest “location” that produces sparkling wine according to the traditional method. On April 27, 2006, Halewood Crafts were awarded the “Majesty’s King Michael’s House Supply” for sparkling wines, and on October 12, 2009, they became an Official Supplier for Still Wines. After the cellars tour, we will have a traditional lunch and taste 3 types of wine.

We continue our trip to see one of the most stunning castles in Europe, Peles Castle. The former Romanian royal family’s summer residence should definitely be on your bucket list. Inside Peles Castle you can wallow in a lavish world of art and history (160 rooms and over 2000 artworks) with influences from different cultures (Italian, Turkish, French, Moorish). The art collections include statues, paintings, furniture, arms and armor, gold, silver, stained glass, ivory, fine china, tapestries, and rugs. Peles Castle took 41 years to be built (1873-1914). It is a real masterpiece of German new-Renaissance architecture, built in a dreamy landscape by King Carol I of Romania.

You will also visit the most beautiful and exquisite mountain resort in Romania. You will discover Sinaia Monastery, a symbol of the simplicity and artistry of the Orthodox spirituality. As soon as you pass through its door, you will step into a place of absolute peace and tranquility, bestowed upon by the divine spirit. Your private guide will help you understand better the history of Romania. The monastery is over 300 years old. It is called “the Cathedral of the Carpathians” due to its location, surrounded by a stunning mountain scenery.
